The show for which Julian Slade and Dorothy Reynolds will be forever remembered, SALAD DAYS, is a theatrical legend that has somehow retained its freshness and fascination since the 1950s. Originally intended for a three week run at the Bristol Old Vic, it was a surprise success in London, where it stayed for over five years and returned in various revivals. Such songs as 'The Time of my Life' and 'I Sit in the Sun' remain some of the most beguiling in the post-war British musical. This album includes some very rare on-stage recordings made during the original production, recapturing for the first time the real excitement of what the show was like on stage. It is the first time, for instance, that we have heard Dorothy Reynolds perform her cabaret number 'Sand in my Eyes'! The booklet features an interview with Julian Slade.
